For test laboratories and certification bodies
If your foreign clients need a Canadian Representative for ISED certification, refer them to us or order on their behalf. We sign your template or ours, turn letters around the same business day, never compete with you for testing or certification work, and hold the appointment for the full term so the question does not come back to you.
What a referral involves
Smutylo Law+ does not test, certify, list or consult on technical compliance, so a referral never sends your client to a competitor. Because the appointment sits with a law firm, your client gets confidentiality and file-continuity obligations that a consultancy is not in a position to offer. Turnaround is the same business day in Ottawa once your project manager submits the form, which keeps the representative letter off the critical path for your certificate. And the fee is fixed and published — US$499 per certified product, paid once — so you can put a firm number into your own project quote.
Two ways to work with us
Refer. Send the client to isedrepresentative.com/quote/. They deal with us directly; you receive the letter from them.
Order on their behalf. Submit orders for each client in your own name. Letters name your client as applicant and us as representative. You invoice your client as part of the project, and we can put several certifications on one consolidated invoice or work to your purchase order so your finance team handles one payment instead of many.
Your template or ours
If your CB or FCB process uses its own Canadian Representative declaration, send it with the first order and we will sign your form every time. Our own letter is structured to the field list in attestation letter required fields and has been accepted by Canadian CBs and by FCBs in the United States, Europe and Asia in appointments we have handled since 2010.
