How it works: from form to signed letter in one business day
Submit the product and company details, pay by card or wire, and receive the signed attestation letter as a PDF the same business day. We then remain the Canadian contact for that certification for as long as the product is offered on the Canadian market, handling any ISED enquiry and coordinating audit samples.
Step 1: Submit the product details
Complete the quote form. We need your company's legal name and address as they will appear on the certification application, your ISED Company Number if you already have one (if not, we explain how to obtain it), a contact name and email, and for each product the IC certification number, PMN, HVIN and model numbers. If the IC number has not yet been assigned, give us the PMN and HVIN and we issue the letter on that basis; CBs accept this routinely. Two minutes, no account required.
Step 2: Pay by card or wire
We email a Stripe payment link for US$499, or an invoice if you prefer. Card payments clear immediately. Wire transfers are accepted and the letter issues when the funds arrive. Purchase orders are accepted, and several certifications can go on one invoice.
Step 3: Receive the signed attestation letter
The same business day, Eastern Time, you receive a signed PDF on Smutylo Law+ letterhead containing every field certification bodies check. Forward it to your certification body or upload it with your application. If your CB uses its own representative template, send it to us and we sign that instead.
Step 4: We remain on file for the term
For as long as the product is offered on the Canadian market, we are the Canadian Representative for that certification. If ISED or your CB contacts us about the product we notify you the same business day and coordinate the response. If an audit sample is requested we arrange its delivery with you. If you add a model or change company details, use the revision form — revisions are free, with no time limit.

What certification bodies receive
The letter is written to the field list CBs and FCBs actually verify: applicant identity matching the application, representative identity and Canadian address, product identifiers, and an express acceptance of RSP-100 section 4.1 responsibilities. See attestation letter required fields.
Can my test lab or certification body order on my behalf?
Yes, and many do. The letter still names you as the applicant. Labs and CBs handling several foreign clients usually put multiple certifications on a single invoice.
What if I do not yet have an ISED Company Number?
You can still submit your request. The Company Number is obtained from ISED through your certification body or directly through ISED's online services, and we explain the process when we confirm your request. We issue the letter with the Company Number field to be completed, or reissue it free once the number is assigned.
Do you need a signed agreement from us?
The order and payment constitute the engagement under our terms of service. Some CBs ask the applicant to countersign the representative declaration; if so, we send a countersignature copy.
